And in this shakiness there is room for interpretation. For this reason, there is always a certain amount of shakiness to the predictions most traditional methods of divination may have to offer. A reader does not pick the cards they want from the pile, they intuitively select the ones that fall out while shuffling, pick from a fan on a table, or just take the first ten cards off the top of the deck after they have mixed it up. They are shuffled, tossed, thrown, flipped, cut, and turned. Cards are not exempt from this rule of chaos either. Runes may do the same, a pendulum can swing any direction its chain allows, and crystals, though static and unchanging within a short time span, may be turned at any angle to view their occlusion patterns and call forth various mental images. Bones may fall in any orientation when cast, for example.
